Great Kitchen and Entertaining Gifts by Creatives and Makers

One of the best things about finally turning my doodles into an online shop is all of the other creatives and makers that I have connected with through Twitter and Instagram. So many people are out there making really amazing items, and I wanted to do a few posts as we head into the holiday gifting season that combine some of my favorite artists around a theme. For this post, we are looking at kitchen and entertaining related items. All of the pictures are hyperlinked to the maker's website, so make sure to click, visit, bookmark, favorite, and hopefully buy!

I know you probably have done a lot of amazon gifting in the past. But trust me, this year, I promise you that you can find amazing gifts directly from an artisan and make a world of difference to them. Let's get going!

I think Lustersart was one of the first few accounts I stumbled across. The second that I saw these adorable fairy door mugs, I was in love! The colors are fantastic and this is such a unique look.

It's polymer clay on a ceramic mug, so it does need some special care, but I think we all have a few very special mugs that we cherish and treat with extra respect.

Check out the rest of the Lustersart site to find pendants, baby blankets, jewelry, and other options.

Ordered too many fairy mugs to carry all at once? There is a stunning wood tray for that. Check out Joshua's Tree Creations for a really cool set of wood products. This is such a fun artisan shop to follow with the variety of products made like rings, pens, trays, charcuterie boards, and all sorts of other items.

I also really like the measuring cups and spoons, there was an entire year that I obsessed over buying different sets of spoons that had clever designs.

I don't know about you, but I prefer to have at least three sets of cups and spoons, especially during baking season! Click the pictures to be taken to the site and have fun immersing yourself in all of the carefully crafted items that you can gift to someone (or yourself) this holiday season!

Or perhaps you want to make a gift basket, so you purchase a fairy mug, make some hot cocoa mix, and want to put in something that will protect the table top of the gift recipient. Consider a mug rug from Jocelyn's Designs, which launch throughout the year in a variety of seasonal shades.

Adding in some soft protectors like this to your coaster collection is a great way to make your whole setting just a bit more cozy. On a cold snowy day, imagine sitting by a fire in your softest blanket, sipping cocoa and placing your mug on its own little cozy rug. Watch for coffee sleeves and other products dropping on the site, and check out all of the other great items already available!

Speaking of great products made from yarn, also check out the shop Les Choses par Camille. Clink the picture to go right to the accessories category, where you can find these adorable market bags! Take these dolls to the farmer's market to load up on your weekly veggies with a handmade tote.

Made from cotton yarn, the bags are as sturdy and washable as they are pretty. This is such a cute gift to give as well and can even double as the gift bag if you are planning to gift a few other stuffers with it. I think I would gift this with a cute outdoor blanket and a book to give someone a great idea of what to do when the weather warms up. I can easily imagine tossing my sketch books and pouches of pens in this with a blanket and enjoying a park in the spring.

One of the products of my own that I think gifts well in the entertaining and kitchen category is a funny or artsy apron. Click the picture to shop by design on my own shop.

Aprons do a world of good for protecting your entertaining outfit when you are doing the last minute touches on your food. Ever gone to top something with a sauce and topped yourself instead? Yea. Me. Nearly every time.

And a funny apron or one with a unique print on it just adds to the conversation. No matter what your house configuration is, everyone seems to gravitate toward the kitchen before dinner. I think funny aprons like this Carolina Reaper/Grim Reaper option are a great way to break the ice with new friends and instantly start a conversation.

These are just a few of my favorite items that I think you should consider this holiday season. Plan ahead and consider following these artists on your social media of choice so that you know when they launch new products! Leave yourself time for shipping and make this a holiday season your most unique yet. I can't even express how excited I get when I see an artist launch something that will perfectly fit with someone I need to buy for because I know that I am going to be able to get them something they aren't quite expecting.

As you always hear, your purchases mean everything to small businesses and artists. Holiday gifting does not have to be about how many individual items we can find for someone, and it absolutely should be about how much care we take in finding something meaningful. Hopefully this list gives you a few ideas to get those creative gifting juices flowing, and look for more posts in this series each week leading up to Shop Small Saturday in November!
