When I was a kid, I bought so many stickers out of the quarter machines at the town gas station. On the one hand, there wasn't a whole lot else to do in town but go there and stickers were cheap. But I have also always enjoyed collecting things. The stickers were so fun at the time, some holographic, most of them having cheesy sayings in true 90's and early 00's style. And now I make my own on my shop and have just as much fun making them as I did buying them then.
I want to talk a little about some of my favorites, all are linked if you want to skip the story and go right to my shop.
This Fall Out Boy street art style sticker is my best seller for stickers and shirts. It looks really great in both and I cannot express how excited I was when this got approved. I loved Fall Out Boy growing up (and still do), so to make something that is official Fall Out Boy merch blew my mind.
There are a lot of good options in the partner program, and that approval did a lot to boost my courage early on in my shop.
This hippo sticker is from a sketch that I did years ago on my college notes. Doodling things always helps me focus, oddly enough, and my go-tos were miniature stick ninjas fighting across the page or this dancing hippo. I ran across an old notebook the last time I moved, and it happened to have this sketch in it! I took a picture of it and used that to digitize my favorite dancer.
I think this beet drop sticker was one of my first! I love EDM and immediately wanted to make a dubstep type pun. I always like lettuce turnip the beet, but felt that I didn't need to add to the wealth of good options there. So I opted to go with Hit Me With The Beet Drop.
It has its own tune in my head. Of course it does.
Sometimes designs have some small detail that speaks to my soul, and for this one it is the little stick hands. I just love them.
Carolina Reapers were my first sticker pack! I made this around Halloween and cackled at the thought of the peppers dressed up like the grim reaper. Look at these ghostly dudes just floating around! As always, you can click on the picture to go right to the shop link.
I did do a similar set of ghost peppers that are pretty cute too, but these are the ones making it in to my top ten every time. If you missed it, make sure to check out my post about making sticker packs here. There are some good tips in there!
I have a fern named Blanche...more on that here. She was the inspiration for Best Ferns Forever. If you can nurture your friendship like a fern and keep it alive for years, you are living right.
I also feel like it has a little bit of an emo fern look to it? I am not sure why I feel that way, maybe it is the little black hearts. But I love everything about this design and enjoyed giving it to my best friend.
She laughed. I am glad I have a bestie that enjoys puns.
Where are the chinchilla owners, because I need them to check out this little furry pal in sunglasses. This pet is chinchillin (probably on an island in the sun, but I can't confirm that).
This took so long to make. I figured out so many better ways to do a design like this after I spent hours on it. I actually crashed my Vectornator app multiple times trying to finish it (this was last summer, Vectornator has made a ton of improvements since then and I have learned how to not overload my apps and iPad).
Or maybe you know a jellyfish lover. Don't get Jelly was the first design I did after Vectornator added brushes to their app. I was SO excited. It immediately increased what I could do and I knew the first thing I had to make was a jellyfish.
I am actually good at making workarounds in programs, and using the tools available. But the addition of brushes was fantastic. I am honestly still shocked that Vectornator is a free app with all the things I have created in it.
Holy Sheep rolled around my brain for weeks until I could make it happen like I wanted. This fluffy farm friend is adorable. I ordered this one for myself as a sticker and I think that images don't do this one enough justice. It is CUTE.
I like the shading the most, it captured the fluff and the softness in some respects as well. And not to keep hyping Vectornator, but it let's you export time lapse videos so I was able to capture the steps that brought this all together for my social media accounts.
Look how cute its face is though!
This moon cycle design was special. This last year has been a LOT to deal with, both from the standpoint of the pandemic and also dealing with relationship issues. There were some really dark times, but some self work during one inspired this design. I wanted something to remind myself that whatever I was experiencing at the time was just a phase. It would cycle on and become something new, and a new cycle would later begin.
This one was made in Affinity Designer (see, I can talk about other programs sometimes). It is not free but it is a BARGAIN for the price as well. I use it and Affinity Photo instead of their Adobe counterparts.
And if you caught my last post, you already know about this sticker pack. This design is quickly becoming my favorite. I have a poster-style design already available on my TeePublic and my Society6, but this sticker pack is only available on my RedBubble. The poster style will join the RB party in a few days.
Thanks for scrolling through my favorites, I hope you like some of these and got a smile from them!
