When life gives you succulents, start a new shop…or whatever that sagely advice is. I found Kin Custom when a Twitter mutual of mine posted about some stuff they had made. I checked it out and was really impressed with how customized I could make everything.
KC as I will call it, is pretty cool because you can have your own shop with them or connect it to your Shopify. I for one opted to have my own shop right on their site because I have this weird thing about being really transparent about where someone is buying from. That gives everyone the option to check a company out and decide whether they want to buy. While every purchase supports me, I want to be as clear as I can about who else is supported along the way.
So this site is neat because I can do a lot more in terms of products like dresses, jackets, and shoes in a bunch of styles. I can do some of those things on other sites but typically may only have one option on them. I don’t have to worry as much about hashtags on this one, because you just select the categories that the design falls in to, but it forces me to think more clearly about titles and focus on the important info.
At least focus better, this is an area that I am currently working on. As in, I’m trying to go back to my very first shop and put good titles on them and not the clever ones that I tried to pull some Shakespearean nonsense with.
Anywho, back to everything Succs. I love this succulent pun design for how simple it is. It has some cool double lined artwork of echeveria and flowers and white script text. It is a remix of a print from my other shops, which I also brought over to this one.
For other options, I left off the text and just made solid black options with printed accent details like this dress below. With KC I like to think of things like a collection and make sure that individual pieces coordinate without trying to force one exact version of the design into each pattern. The dress below is an example of this. So all in all I’m really excited to continue with this shop and refine my others! Stay tuned for more shop updates
